Pandemics and World wars: Do they have any thing in common?

  •      In 2019-2020, Corona Virus had spread involving majority of the countries of the world causing large amounts morbidity, death, suffering and financial breakdown in the affected countries.

This calamity was compared with the second world war in terms of its massive scale of human life and resources destruction. There were a lot of similarities between the two in terms of their spread and the inability of world to contain the cause of the suffering.

Between 1939 to 1945, The second world war shook the world causing millions of deaths and much more people suffered from it directly or indirectly.

Adolf Hitler, A leader of Germany was instrumental in triggering the war. He was a powerful leader with conviction of Anti-Semitism (Racial discrimination), greed for an absolute power. He was an adamant and powerful ruler who never questioned himself nor allowed others to question him.  Hitler’s feel of vengeance, inhuman nature, greed for absolute power proved more dangerous to the mankind than any bug in the world.

  •      The corona virus is an invisible bug of the size of 100 nm which can only be seen through an electron microscope. The Virus took its origin in China. It is not clear whether it started in wet markets due to the ambitious food habits of chinese or in chinese research laboratories due to their desire to knock out other countries of the world or whether it is born out of nature’s anger.
  •        After the infection with corona the world was divided into two groups, those infected with Corona Virus and those who are vulnerable to the infection by the virus. In other terms, one group of people helplessly helped the virus in disseminating (with or without their awareness), Other group was helpless regarding the contracting of the disease from the first group. As the time passed lakhs of people moved from the second group to the first group unwantedly hosting the virus.
  •      In the same way in world war 2, The world was split in to 2 groups. The first group was inflicted by antisemitism (Racism), greed for absolute power and vengeance. The second large group was of innocent people who were affected by the first group.

  •    The main cause of spread was inhalation, direct contact with shaking the hands or indirect contact through sharing of the touch on common surfaces. In the same way the World war 2 was triggered by one country (Germany). It spread all over the world by joining of the hands of the leaders of various nations with common interests. The spread of the World war intensified indirectly by alliances between the distant nations which doesn't have any direct geographical contact. This lead to two powerful groups of nations standing against each other.
  •      The noninfected people in the pandemic and people of nations not involved in world wars had to live in fear. Crumbled economy and starvation made many people suffer. Huge mortality and suffering are the common outcomes in world wars and pandemics. However, there are lot of differences between them.
  •      The Corona virus is a nucleo-protein which can be seen very well in an electron microscope. The virus has a shape and the disease has a pathophysiology. That means in pandemic we deal with a visible enemy with potential possibility of a prevention or cure in the future. However, in the world wars nations are driven by a feel of insecurity, greed, imaginary fears. That feel is experienced and acted out but cannot be seen in a microscope. Quarantine and screening tests can limit the pandemic, However there are no objective tests to screen human ill will.
  •     In pandemics the entire mankind has a common enemy(microbe). The nations fight collectively adding their energies. However, in World Wars the energy of the nations is directed against each other. This leads to subtraction of their energies.
  •   At the end of the pandemic, all the people experience a sense of relief and all the nations focus their energies on rebuilding and preventive strategies against their common enemy. At the end of the world wars  all the nations involved end up with feel of guilt or vengeance.
  • Pandemics are a nature’s check and balance system to the human population and eco system. However, the world wars are the outcome of the human greed and fear and are destructive to the planet.
  •      Pandemics remind the helplessness of the mankind in front of the nature and make the humans more insightful. They increase the humility in mankind. However, the world wars reinforce vengeance, guilt. They make people experience humiliation
A mother has an equal love for all its children. If one of her offspring over powers the weaker ones, she will do a corrective action to protect the weak. We need to appreciate that natural disasters are corrective actions of our mother nature to protect the weaker organisms we are threatening. Pandemics and natural disasters are corrective steps to balance the external nature, while world wars are a consequence of an imbalance in the human's inner nature.

The butterfly - A short story

.   Once there was a butterfly. It had a child who was very young. The child crossed the larva stage and became a pupa. The child wanted to prolong its pupa stage and rest while the parent wanted it to come out of the pupa stage and spread its wings. The parent butterfly was upset because the child does not want to spread its wings in the right time which may limit the flying capacity of the child when it becomes a butterfly. The pupa wanted to feed more because it believed that feeding more would make its body more powerful. The butterfly was deeply concerned about the child.  Out of concern and desperation, the butterfly scolded the pupa saying “Do not become a parasite, you are becoming my liability”. The pupa out of anger told the parent, “You have no concern for me. I do not want to be your liability. I will fly away from the home once I get freedom and strength in the wings". The butterfly explained its child with a smile "My dear child we both want the same thi...

Zoom-in to Zoom-out

A Raja Guru was asked to train the five princes in Archery. He placed a toy bird on the branch of a tree and asked each one of them to aim at the eye of the bird. The Guru asked each one of them to tell what they could see. The eldest prince said that he could see the tree, its branches, the bird and its eye. The next one told he can see the branch on which the bird is sitting, along with the bird. The third prince told he can see the bird and its eye. The fourth one told he can see only the head of the bird and its eye. Finally, the fifth one told that he can see only the eye of the bird and nothing but the eye. The fifth prince hit the bird's eye while other princes missed their target.  The Guru asked what was running in their mind when they were aiming at the bird. The eldest of them told that he was concerned that the arrow may disturb other birds sitting on the tree. The second one was wondering how good the fruit hanging besides the bird would taste.  Another p...
